Painted in watercolor while I was living in Iceland, this scene comes from the road out to the Golden Circle, the stretch of country that carries you past Gullfoss, Geysir, and Þingvellir. Mountains rise straight out of open ground, and the light shifts so quickly that watercolor felt like the only honest way to catch it. I spent long winter nights painting, and days like this one were the reward.
Each fine art print is reproduced on thick matte museum-quality paper, so the soft washes and bare-paper highlights of the original watercolor stay true.
